For participants entering 6th-12th grades.

Registration starts Monday, may 20 and ends Wednesday, July 24. You can begin loggin books on the 1st of June. The last day to log is Wednesday, July 24.

You must log your books online by going to the Beneath the Surface-Teen page at http://al.evanced.info/northshelby/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=6.

For every 200 pages you read, you will receive a grand prize entry. The grand prize drawing will be held at the End Party on Thursday, July 25. The more you read, the better your chances! Teens may earn extra grand prize entries by writing reviews as detailed below.

A weekly prize will be chosen each Friday at 4:00 in the Teen Department. In order to be chosen for this prize, books must be entered in the system no later than 3:45 each Friday.

Registration is required for some programs as indicated by a star(*) in the calendar. You can register online by clicking the calendar link at http://al.evanced.info/northshelby/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=6 except for the kickoff event. Stop by the Teen Department to register for the kickoff movie.
Door prizes will be drawn for at movies and Monday night programs!
The last day to log books online is Wednesday, July 24th. No exceptions will be made to ensure fairness to all participants.
Book Trivia

The librarians have selected 10 books we think are awesome. Get the list online or in the Teen Department!

At the end party, we will have a trivia contest based on the books (don't get stage fright - it will be on paper). Right answers earn points, wrong answers subtract points.

The top scorer(s) will win a prize!
Reviews

Teens cans submit an online review of a book, movie, CD, or game of their choice.

Each review earns you another chance for our grand prize.

To be eligible for a prize, reviews should include the title, author, a brief summary without spoilers, and why you did or did not like the book/movie/CD/game.

Reviews must be submitted on the Teen Summer Reading page (http://al.evanced.info/northshelby/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=6. Once approved, the review will appear on the page but your last name will not be posted.
June Events
Teen Summer Reading Kickoff!*
Monday, June 3 @ 6:30pm Must be at the theater between 6 & 6:25!
Join us for a showing of 'Star Trek Into Darkness' (PG-13, 129 minutes) at the Alabaster AmStar 14! We will provide admision for teens (entering 6th-12th grade). Parents and siblings are welcome to attend for $10 each. Must register between 10 am on May 20 and 5pm on May 31 in the Teen Department. Payment for non-teens due at registration.
LEGO Mania
