Overview of Classes

Computer Comfort This is a 2 day class. In order to get the most from this class, sign up for both days.
An Introductory class to familiarize yourself with the computer and various basic functions. We will be covering the computer components and Windows navigation including file management, and go over any other concerns you may have when working with your computer.

Intro to Internet This is a 2 day class. In order to get the most from this class, sign up for both days.
The basics of navigating the Internet for those with little to no experience

Intro to Email This is a 2 day class. In order to get the most from this class, sign up for both days.
Create a Gmail Account, sending messages, checking your email, replying to messages. Time permitting, we will also cover folders, saving drafts, contacts/address book, attachments (viewing and downloading), calendar and notepad functions.

Intro to Word 2007 This is a 2 day class. In order to get the most from this class, sign up for both days.
An introduction to the word processing program, Microsoft Word. Learn how to create a simple document, edit and format text, correct spelling errors, and adjust the margins. We will also cover how to save, print and open files.
Day 2 will cover newspaper columns, page borders, inserting page breaks, section breaks, page numbers, creating a bulleted or numbered list, creating and formatting tables.

Intro to Excel 2007 This is a 2 day class. In order to get the most from this class, sign up for both days.
This class will cove:r entering text and numbers, formatting text and performing mathematical calculations.
We will also work with worksheet formatting and working with multiple sheets and charts.

PowerPoint 2007
An introduction to the presentation program. Learn how to create a simple presentation, create and edit slides, insert clipart, aply designs, work with views, and run the slide show. We will also cover how to save, print and open presentations.

Super Google
Explore the Advanced Search options within Google to refine and get better results than a basic search.

Downloadables
This class will cover downloading audiobooks & ebooks from the library using Overdrive and Adobe Digital Editions. Please bring the device you wish to use to download books. Downloading free music from Freegal, and using Rocket Languages. Class will then be open for questions about any other library resources or Social Media.

Resume Lab
Supervised lab time to create and save a resume in MS Word. Assistance with document formatting and proofreading available. Please bring a written draft of your resume and a USB drive. NOT an instructor led class or a career advisement session.
